This may sound strange, but I could totally see the evil version of me choosing the power… to give other people powers.
First, as he’d spread them like wildfire, it would result in CHAOS!!! So, entertainment would be guaranteed.
Second, almost everything that happened in history after the introduction of superpowers could well hinge on that single moment, satisfying his ego.
Third, he’d be delighted to see all of these would-be heroes break down as their glorious dreams were shattered before their eyes no matter what powers they had. All their wishes granted, but proven hollow and worthless. Depending on a wide range of severity, it could be the ultimate form of torture, the kind that makes people want to die, to escape the nightmare they have created for themselves..
Fourth, he’d stipulate that any power he gave out, which he could also take away, he would have that same power too. Eventually, he’d be able to do… anything. And once he made someone immortal, that “eventually” could last a good, long while!
So he’d be the shadowy figure in history who played with people like toys, upset entire civilizations, and became all-powerful. In short: he’d make himself, as he saw it, a god.
Yeah, terribly egotistical. Not like me at all! 😉
I am such a geek. I’ve actually thought of a couple ways to defeat my alternate-dimension, superpowered, godlike, evil self… which is a strange combination of creepy, nerdy, and reassuring. (rolls eyes)
