…there’s not much to add to words like that, is there?

There are no sadder words than these, “It might have been.” I have no idea what the original quote of that is or who said it, but it’s true. This quote comes from a man, just a two-episode supporting character, who has just lost the chance to be with the girl he liked, and who he discovered, as she was dying, she liked him too. So, after the crisis has ended and the menace has passed, he tells his friends, who he recognizes have a similar situation between them as he had with his might-have-been-girlfriend, and tells them to just stop wasting time, confess, and seize some happiness from this life.

And so they do.

May we all take the lesson from this, and not waste time dreaming about the happiness we want. Let’s take a chance now, seize it, and perhaps, if we are lucky… make it real, and make it last as long as possible.
