Merry Christmas, Everyone! 😀
I figure, what the heck? Share some music!
Of course there’s so MUCH music out there, all so filled with meaning and beauty. I think, next year, I may just share some Christmas music every day of December. 25 Days of Christmas Music! Yes! I shall do that!
…but, as I am a week late, that will have to wait ’till then. Heh.
First is one of my favorite stars in the world, Lindsey Stirling. I love her music, I love her style, I love her message. 🙂
Second, my favorite acapella group, Pentatonix. I never really liked the song “Mary, Did You Know?” I’m not sure why, it just never clicked with me. That is, until this.
Third, still a “country acapella” group, also of Sing Off fame, Home Free. I’ve enjoyed several versions of, “O Holy Night,” but Home Free’s version may be my favorite, perhaps because it’s so soft, controlled but free. For lack of another way to put it, it feels more like I am bowing to my Savior, while other versions feel like we are bowing to our Savior. It just feels more personal, ya know?
Fourth, back to Lindsey! She produced this version of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” with her friend Kuha’o last year, as I recall. It’s the same message as ever: you have beauty, you have a gift, you have light within, and there is Someone who always sees it.
Home Free again. (wow, I feel bad for giving Pentatonix only one spot now, lol) I’ve always liked this song. The version I heard a bajillion times as a kid started so very softly and gradually built to a concluding crescendo, loud and glorious. This one doesn’t do that, but it’s plenty good, and feels so reverent and joyous at the same time. I love it! 🙂
Hope you enjoyed! I certainly did!
Merry Christmas, one and all! 😀
